6 fig filled bar cookies, crumbled
1/3 c orange juice
1 tbsp light corn syrup
6 large Rome apples; peeled and cored
1 c sugar
1/2 c boiling water
1 tbsp butter
1 tsp grated orange rind

Directions:
Directions:
Combine first 3 ingredients in a small bowl; stir well and let stand 10 minutes.

Place apples upright in a baking dish. Spoon cookie mixture evenly into center of apples. Combine sugar, boiling water, and butter, stirring until sugar dissolves. Pour sugar mixture over apples. Bake, uncovered, at 350 for 45 to 50 minutes, basting frequently. Serve warm.
