2 tbsp sugar
1/2 to 1 tsp cinnamon
1 (8 oz) can refrigerated crescent rolls
1 lg apple, peeled, cored and cut into 8 slices

Sauce:
1/2 c sugar
1/2 c whipping cream
1 tbsp almond extract or Amaretto
1 egg
1/2 c sliced almonds
Cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 375

In a small bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon; blend well. Separate dinner rolls into 8 triangles. Sprinkle sugar mixture evenly over each. Gently press sugar mixture into each trig angle, flattening slightly.

Place apple slice on wide part of roll; tuck in edges and roll up starting at the wide end. Seal all seams.

Place tip side down in uncreased 9" round baking dish or pie pan. Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Sauce:
In small bowl, using a wire whisk, combine sugar, whipping cream, almond extract and egg until well blended. spoon sauce over partially baked rolls. Sprinkle with almonds and cinnamon - bake an additional 13 to 18 minutes. Cover top of pan with foil during last 5 minutes to prevent excessive browning.
