1/2 cup butter or margerine
1/2 cup minced onion
2/3 cup flour
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon paprika
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon salt
1 can (10-3/4 ounce) chicken broth
4 cups milk
1 can (12 ounce) beer
3 cups finely shredded sharp cheddar cheese
Popcorn

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter in large kettle. Saute onion until soft. Blend in flour and seasonings; gradually stir in broth, milk and beer. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture comes to a boil. Stir for one more minute. Stir in cheese. Heat and stir until smooth. To serve: Ladle soup into a cup or bowl and garnish with popcorn.
