1 c. - butter OR margarine
tsp. - baking powder
1 c. - brown sugar, packed
tsp. - salt
1 c. - granulated sugar
1 tsp. - baking soda
2 - eggs
2 c. - rolled oats
1 tsp. - vanilla
1 c. - chocolate chips
2 c. - flour
1 c. - walnuts, chopped


Cream sugars, shortening, eggs, and vanilla. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Add oats, chips, and nuts; mix well. Drop by teaspoonfuls on cookie sheet and bake in 375 oven about 10 minutes or till golden brown. Cool slightly before removing to a wire rack. Store in airtight container. May be formed into a roll and frozen for later use as slice and bake cookies.
