"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain

1/2 lb butter 1 c. sugar 2 egg yolks 2 c. flour 1 c chopped walnuts 1/2 c. raspberry jam (or favorite jam)
Cream butter; gradually add sugar and beat until fluffy. Add egg yolks, blend well. Add flur and mix thoroughly. Fold in nuts. Spread evenly 1/3 of the batter into 9 x 13 inch pan. Top with jam, cover with remaining butter. Bake at 325º for 1 hour or until golden brown. Cool. Cut into small squares and roll in powdered sugar.
Mom has always made these for Christmas, as long as I can remember. It's a simple recipe and fantastic cookies.
