3/4 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. white sugar
1 c. shortening
2 eggs (unbeaten)
1 tsp. hot water
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 c. quick oatmeal
1/4 chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugars. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Add hot water and vanilla. Add dry ingredients that have been sifted together, then oatmeal and lastly the nuts. Drop by spoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet. Press 3 or 4 M & M candies into each cookie before baking. Bake at 375. Makes 6-7 dozen.
