3 C Sliced Apples
1/3 C Shortening
2/3 C Sugar
3 Eggs
1 2/3 C Flour
3 t Baking Powder
1 t Cinnamon
1/2 C Milk
1/2 C Coconut (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350. Cream shortening and sugar together. Add in 2 eggs and beat well. In another bowl, mix flour, b. powder, and cinnamon. Add flour mixture to eat mixture alternately with milk. Stir in 2 cups apples and coconut (optional). Pour into greaed 8 inch square pyrex dish. Mix remaining apples, suagr, and cinammon and arrange on top of batter. Bake for 55 minutes.
