1/2 C pickling lime 4 lbs sugar 7 lbs sliced cucumber 1/2 C salt. 1/2 gal. vinegar 1 tb celery seed 1 T pickling spice (tied in cheesecloth)
Soak cucumbers in lime overnight. Next morning rinse in fresh water and let drain for 15 mins. Add 1/2 C salt and let stand for 3 hours. Heat vinegar, sugar, and spices. Add cucumbers and cook (not boil) until they are clear (20-25 mins.). Seal in jars
