3 large apples
1 cup prunes
1 cup raisins
1-1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup Sago or pearl tapioca (soaked in water several hours or overnight)
Juice from 1/2 orange
Juice from 1/2 lemon
2 quarts boiling water
2 sticks of cinnamon

Combine all ingredients and cook slowly 1 hour.

This was a holiday treat at my in-laws, but my mother-in-law said it originally was a dish always taken when you visited a new mother. I especially like this as a topping for cottage cheese.
