Combine brown sugar, butter and corn syrup.
Press into bottom of 9 x 13 inch baking dish.
Place French bread slices on top of brown sugar mixture.
Beat eggs with milk, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Pour over bread.
Cover and refrigerate overnight.
Sprinkle with pecan pieces, if desired.
Bake at 350 degrees 30 minutes or until it is light golden brown.
