Ingredients:
3 cups water (boiling)
1 cup water (cold)
1 cup corn meal
1 tsp sugar
tsp salt
1 tsp butter

Directions:
Directions:
Add sugar, salt and butter to boiling water. Mix the corn meal with the cold water and quickly add to the boiling water, stirring constantly until it thickens, about 2 to 5 min. Pour into greased loaf pan. Refrigerate overnight. Slice coat with flour and fry till golden brown. Serve with maple syrup.
NOTE:
I sometimes add cup sharp Cheddar cheese to the hot mush. Then pour it into the baking pan and put it in the a 375% oven to bake until golden brown and serve it much like cornbread. Very good on a cold night.
