1 cup soft butter or margarine
1/2 cup Imperial Brown Sugar
1/2 cup Imperial Granulated Sugar
3 egg yolks
1 Tbsp cold milk
1 Tbsp vanilla
2 cups sifted flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp soda
1 - 6 oz pkg chocolate chips




Topping:
3 egg whites
1 cup Imperial Brown sugar
1 cup chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and both sugars. Add egg yolks and beat well. Add cold milk and vanilla alternately with sifted dry ingredients. Spread evenly in well greased 11 x 16 in pan. Sprinkle with chocolate chips. Set aside and prepare meringue topping.


Topping:
Beat egg whites until stiff, add brown sugar gradually. Fold chopped pecans in. Spread meringue over cookies and bake at 350 for 25 min.
Allow to cool before cutting
