1 cup finely chopped dates
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg, beaten
1 stick margarine
1 cup coconut
1 tbsp. flour
2 1/2 cups rice Krispies cereal
1 cup sugar
1 cup chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Combine dates, flour, sugar, margarine and egg in electric skillet or large iron skillet and cook 8 to 10 minutes, low heat. Stir occassionally. Turn off heat and stir in rice Krispies, nuts and vanilla. Butter your hands and roll into balls and roll in coconut and place on waxed paper to cool.

mom makes these around the Christmas holidays and they are really great,,,,,,,,,, really can't taste the dates, they cook to mush anyway!!!
