"The tradition of Italian cooking is that of the matriarch. This is the cooking of grandma. She didn't waste time thinking too much about the celery. She got the best celery she could and then she dealt with it."--Mario Batali

1 German chocolate cake mix
1 box Bakers German sweet chocolate
2 containers cool whip
2 cans cherry pie filling

Directions:
Make both cakes according to package directions and bake in 8 or 9 inch round cake pans. When they are fully cooked and slightly cooled, remove them from the pans and let them sit covered on the counter for 1 day. Then cut both cakes into 2 layers (now there will be a total of 4 layers). Put one German chocolate layer down first, cover with small layer of cool whip, then cherries and then grate some chocolate. Then put a layer of dark chocolate and cover with cool whip cherries and chocolate. Repeat with the last 2 layers of cake. On the top layer, just put cool whip and grated chocolate.
