3/4 cup butter
1 1/2 cups brown sugr
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
Grated rind from 1 and a half oranges
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/2 tsp. soda
2 3/4 cup flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 cup chopped nuts
Icing:
1 tlbs. lemon juice
2 tlbs. orange juice
1 tsp. orange rind
1 tsp. lemon rind
1/2 tsp. vanilla
4 tlbs. soft butter

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter,sugar, orange rind, eggs & vanilla.
Dissolve soda in buttermilk and stir into creamed mixture. Stir in baking powder, salt and nuts.
Stir in flour.
Drop by rounded tsp. full on greased baking sheet.
Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.
Icing:
Beat together with enough powdered sugar to spread. Frost cooled cookies.
These freeze really well.
