1 1/2 lbs. lean ground beef
1 c. fine cracker crumbs
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/2 c. chopped green pepper
1 egg
1-15 oz. can of tomato sauce
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1/4 c. water
1 tbsp. brown sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together in bowl ground beef, cracker crumbs, onion, green pepper & egg with 1/2 can of tomato sauce, salt & pepper. Shape into loaf in shallow baking pan. Bake at 350 for one hour. Drain fat. Add water and brown sugar to remaining 1/2 tomato sauce, pour over loaf. Bake 20 minutes longer. Spoon sauce over top before serving.
