2 c. sugar
2/3 c. shortening
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. vanilla extract
9 T. cocoa
1 1/2 c. flour
1 c. chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Mix all ingredients and pour into a greased and floured pan. Bake for about 40 minutes.
