"Plain fresh bread, its crust shatteringly crisp. Sweet cold butter. There is magic in the way they come together in your mouth to make a single perfect bite."--Ruth Reichl

1 big ol carrot,
Red pepper (as desired)

Directions:
Directions:
First to catch a happy squirrel, climb up a big tree and act like
a nut by telling funny jokes (to catch a happy squirrel you
gotta have really funny jokes). Then hit the squirrel in the
hade with a big stick (preferrably while he is laughing at your
jokes). Skin him and chop off'n his little hade and tell. Drop
him (or her...as the case may be...don't take too long lookin')
in a crocked pot with enuff water to cuver him (or her...).
Chop up the onion and the potbelly mushroom and carrot and
put them in the crocked pot with the formerly happy squirrel
and the lipton onion soup mix....cook 'til dun. Season with Red
Pepper to suit you. Grate served with cornbread and fritters
and greens...but not too many greens...cuz they give you
gas. 1 squirrel per person...any less would only arouse your
appetite and not bed it back down afore you were through.
