1 pkg German Chocolate Cake Mix
2/3 c. evaporated milk
1/2 c. margarine
1 c. optional chopped nuts
1 (14 oz.) pkg caramels
1 (12 oz.) pkg chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Combine cake mix, 1/3 c. evaporated milk, margarine, and nuts. Pat 3/4 of mixture in 9 x 13 ungreased pan, saving 1/4 of the the mixture for the topping. Bake 10 minutes at 350 F. While crust is baking, melt caramels and 1/3 c. evaporated milk in a double boiler or microwave 3 to 4 minutes at medium heat. Remove pan from oven. Sprinkle with chocolate chips, spread caramel mixture over the chips. Crumble the remaining dough over the top. Bake an additional 15 minutes. Cut when cooled.
