2 c sugar
1 c shortening (or 2 sticks butter)
3 eggs
1 t vanilla
1 t salt
1 t soda dissolved in 2 T buttermilk
4 c plain flour

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar, salt & shortening. Add beaten eggs & vanilla, add soda mix. Add flour to make soft dough. Roll thin & cut with cookie cutters. Bake 7 - 8 min at 375.
