9 oz macaroni, cooked
2 C cheese sauce (see below)
1/2 C grated sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 C cubed ham
1 can sliced mushrooms

Cheese Sauce:
4 Tbs butter
4 Tbs flour
1 C warm milk
salt
freshly ground pepper
1/2 C grated cheddar cheese

Directions:
Directions:
First make the cheese sauce: Melt the butter in a heavy-bottomed saucepan. Sir in the flour and cook, stirring constantly, until the paste cooks and bubble a bit, but don't let it brown. Add the warm milk, continuing to stir as the sauce thickens. Bring to a boil. Add salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat. Stir in cheddar cheese. Carefully mix the cheese sauce into the macaroni and add the cheese, mushrooms and ham. Pour mixture into a 1 1/2 quart casserole and bake at 375 for 30 minutes.
