1/2 C. Butter or Margarine
1- 16 oz. can Sliced Pineapple
1 box Yellow Cake Mix
1 1/4 C. Brown Sugar (packed)
Maraschino Cherries (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Melt butter in bottom of 9 x 13 inch pan. When butter is melted, sprinkle brown sugar over butter in bottom of pan. Open pineapple and drain, reserve juice. Lay pineapples over bottom of pan. If using cherries place a cherry in center of each pineapple slice.
Mix cake according to directions on box, using the reserved pineapple juice as part of the water called for on the box. Pour batter over pineapple layer. Bake cake cake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
