2 cups sugar
2 eggs
cup butter
1 cup milk
2 cups flour, sifted
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Cream butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla together until smooth and creamy. Add flour and milk a little at a time, beating after each addition. Place dough on a flat, floured surface. Knead until dough is of rolling consistency. A little more flour may be needed at this point. Cut into round shapes with a biscuit cutter or rim of a glass the size you like.. Bake in a 400 degree oven for 12-15 minutes or until edges start to crisp.

When I was a little girl, my baby sitter would make tea cakes for us to have for tea parties. These simple cookies bring back wonderful memories of years gone by.
