2 cups sugar
2 cubes butter
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1 1/4 cups milk
2 tsp baking powder
4 eggs, separated
2- 2 oz. boxes poppy seeds

Directions:
Directions:
Soak poppy seeds in 1 cup of milk for 2 hours or more.
Mix the flour and baking powder, set aside. Cream the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add the egg yolks and beat until smooth. Add the poppy seed/milk mixture and beat well. Add the flour and baking powder mixture, mix well, then add the vanilla and remaining 1/4 cup of milk and mix. Beat the egg whites until stiff, then fold into the batter. Pour into a 9 inch tube pan that is lightly greased.
Bake at 350 for one hour or until done.
