* 1 cup flour
* 1/2 tsp.each baking powder & baking powder
* 1/4 tsp. salt
* 1/2 cup shortning
* 1/4 tsp. vanilla
* 1/4 cup walnuts
* 1/2 cup sugar
* 1/2 cup brown sugar
* 1 egg
* 3/4 cup rolled oats

*Heat the oven to 375.*Lightly spray 2 baking sheets & set aside.*Sift together flour,baking powder & soda,sugar & salt.*Cream brown sugar,shortning,egg & vanilla together.*Add the dry mixture to the wet mixture 'til well blended.*Hand stir in the oats & the nuts.*Form into small balls & dip the tops into a little sugar.*Place on baking sheets & bake about 10 minutes.*Store in an airtight container.
