1 c flour
1 c cornmeal
1/4 c sugar
3 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt (opt)
1/4 c soft butter
1 egg
1 c buttermilk.

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 425 , Grease a 9x9 in pan. Combine dry ingredients in large bowl, cut in butter with pastry knife, until crumbly. Beat egg until frothy, stir in buttermilk. Pour into dry ingredients and stir until just blended. Pour into pan and bake for 20 minutes.
