3/4 c. sugar
1 c. butter, softened
1 t. vanilla
1/2 t. almond extract
1 egg
2 1/4 c. flour
1/4 t. baking powder
Colored Sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 375 degrees. In large bowl, cream sugar and butter. Add vanilla, almond extract and egg; mix well. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off. Blend together flour, baking powder and salt. Gradually add to creamed mixture; mix well. Force dough through a cookie press onto ungreased cookie sheets. Sprinkle with colored sugar. If dough is too soft, refrigerate for 5 to 10 minutes. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes or until light golden brown. Remove from cookie sheets; cool. 4-5 dozen cookies.

This is a great Spritz Cookie recipe.
For a Chocolate Spritz variation, increase the sugar to 1 cup and add 2 (1 oz.) squares melted, unsweetened chocolate to creamed mixture. Increase flour to 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 cups.
**The chocolate version is delicious too!
