3/4 cup of buttered flavored Crisco
1 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
2 Tbsp of milk
2 Tbsp of vanilla
1 egg
1 3/4 cups of all-purpose flour
1 tsp of salt
3/4 tbsp baking soda
1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips (I put a little extra...just for good measure)
1 cup of pecans (optional - if you don't use nuts put in 12 oz of chocolate chips).

Directions:

Cream Crisco and sugar together; add milk, vanilla, egg, salt and baking soda...mix a little more. Add flour and mix until smooth. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes.......or until done. Always set the timer or the last batch may burn.
