1 gallon chopped cabbage
12 onions
12 green peppers
12 red peppers
2 quarts choppped green tomatoes
5 cups sugar
4 T. ground mustard
1 T. tumeric
1 T. ground ginger
4 T. mustard seed
3 T. celery seed
2 T. mixed whole spices.
2 to 3 quarts vinegar

Directions:
Directions:
Chop onions and peppers. Mix all vegetables with 1/2 cup salt. Let stand overnight. Drain. Tie mixed spices in bag. Add sugar and spices to vinegar. Simmer 20 minutes. Add all other ingredients and simmer until hot and well seasoned. Remove spice bag. Pack hot chow chow into hot jars and seal at once.
