1 1/2 c. vegetable oil
3 eggs
1 tsp. soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
3 c. diced raw apples
1 c. raisins
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
3 c. plain flour
1 c. walnuts

Blend oil and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each. Add salt, soda, vanilla, and cinnamon. Add flour, reserving enough to coat fruit, nuts and raisins. Then fold in apples, raisins and nuts. Bake in 10 inch tube pan for 1 hour and 45 minutes at 325 degrees.

In a pan combine:
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 stick margarine
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. soda
Bring to a boil, boiling rapidly for 2 minutes. Pour over cake in pan and cool cake before removing.
