Carmel Bars Recipe

32 carmels
5 T. cream
1 c. chocolate chips
1/2 c. nuts
1 c. flour
1 c. oatmeal
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 t.soda
1/4 t. salt
3/4 c. butter

Melt caramels with cream in double boiler and set aside.
Mix crust ingredients together and put 2/3 on the bottom. Pat down. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle 1 cup chocolate chips and 1/2 cup nuts on crust. Dribble caramel mixture over chocolate chips. Sprinkle rest of crumb mixture over the caramel, and bake another 10 minutes, or until brown.
