Apple Bars Recipe

2 c. flour
2 c. quick oatmeal
1 c. brown sugar
1 t. soda
1 c. shortening
***APPLE FILLING***
Approximately 6 large apples
3/4 c. sugar
1 t. cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Mix first 5 ingredients together until crumbly. Pat 1/2 into buttered 9x13 pan. Cut apples as for pie and spread in pan or first layer. Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon over apples.
Cover apples with remaining crumb mixture. Bake at 350 degrees until lightly brown for 35-45 minutes.
