1 clove garlic
4 T. butter or margarine
4 T. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 cups milk
1 8 oz. cream cheese
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
Mushrooms, artichoke hearts, sauteed onions and peppers, sliced tomatoes may be served on top of alfredo.

Place clove of garlic in butter and cook for just a minute to brown garlic. Stir in flour, salt and pepper. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture is smooth and bubbly; remove from heat. Gradually stir in milk. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly; boil and stirl 1 minute. Add one package of cream cheese and parmesan cheese.
