2 cups shortening (crisco)
2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
4 tsp vanilla
4 eggs
4 1/2 cups flour
2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp salt
1 pkg choc chips

Directions:
Directions:
Cream the shortening and the white and brown sugar until very creamy. Add the eggs and the vanilla and mix well. Add the soda and the salt with the flour and add it slowly, mixing each addition well. then add the chips.

Gramma Bernie made these cookies for everyone. She sent them to school with my grand kids for special treats and we always enjoyed them when we had coffee with her. Now I enjoy doing this for them and for my neighborhood kids, especially Cloe, Tess, and my friend Christian.
