1 cup pitted prunes, chopped
⅔ cup brown sugar, packed
cup water, boiling
teaspoon cinnamon
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon orange rind, grated
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup dates, chopped
teaspoon salt
cup vegetable oil
1 egg
cup milk

Directions:
Directions:
Combine prunes and boiling water in bowl. Let stand while preparing batter. Sift dry ingredients in bowl. Add brown sugar, orange rind and nuts. Beat egg well, stir in oil, milk and prune mixture. Add to dry ingredients all at once. Stir until evenly moist. Spread in greased loaf pan. Bake at 350 for 60-65 minutes or until done.
