1 cup sugar ½ teaspoon salt ½ cup shortening ½ cup milk 2 eggs ¼ cup maraschino cherry juice 2½ cups flour ¾ cup nuts, chopped 2 teaspoon baking powder ⅓ maraschino cherries, chopped
Cream shortening, sugar and eggs until light. Add dry ingredients to creamed mix. Add milk and cherry juice, alternately. Stir until all ingredients are moistened. Add cherries and nuts. Spoon into greased loaf pan. Bake at 350° for 60-65 minutes.
