5 c. crushed pineapple
2 c. shredded carrots
1 c. brown sugar
3 T. cornstarch
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground cloves

Directions:
Directions:
First cook shredded carrots in microwave until tender. Mix in sauce pan with the remaining ingredients. Cook over low heat, stirring frequently until the mixture thickens. Serve with ham.

This is from an October 18, 1953 American Weekly. Comparable to the Parade section in our Daily Chronicle. I made some changes to the original recipe. It is doubled and adjusted to my taste and shortened cooking time with a microwave for carrots only. Mary J. Benson
