2 c. shell macaroni
3 c. chicken or turkey, cooked and cubed
2 T. finely chopped onion
1 t. salt
1 1/2 c. celery, sliced thin
1 1/2 c. seedless green grapes
11-oz. can mandarin oranges segments, drained
1 1/2 c. pineapple tidbets
1/2 c. slivered almonds, toasted
1 c. salad dressing or mayonnaise
1 c. whipping cream, whipped
Cashews for top, toasted

Directions:

Cook macaroni to desired doneness as directed on package. Drain; rinse in cold water. In large bowl, combine all ingredients except whipping cream. Cover; refrigerate 3 hours to blend flavors. Just before serving, fold in whipped cream. Top with toasted cashews.

This is my favorite chicken salad. It is equally delicious if substituting 3 cups cooked white rice for the macaroni.
A great salad for a reception of any kind.
