Directions:
In medium bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water and add 1 tablespoon sugar. Set aside for yeast to begin working. Soak raisins in warm water to restore plumpness. In large capacity mixer (Bosh or KitchenAid ) add ingredients in order and beat with 8 cups of flour until smooth then add 4 more cups flour. Knead by hand until a smooth dough. Put in bowl and glaze with vegetable oil. Let raise for 2 hours or until double in bulk.. Divide into 3 parts. Roll out in long rectangular shapes.

Prepare filling mixture, by melting 1 cube margarine and spread on dough. Sprinkle with mixture of 1 cup sugar and 1 tablespoon cinnamon. Sprinkle chocolate chips or raisins (drained and blotted with paper towel to remove water), or nuts, over cinnamon and sugar. Then roll dough into a long roll and cut into 1" rolls using heavy duty thread ( dental floss works great)doubled, insert under roll and cross over on top it to slice dough evenly. Let raise 1 hour and bake at 350 F for 15-20 minutes. When cool, top with powdered sugar, butter, and vanilla icing.
