1 c. sugar
3/4 c. margarine
1 egg
1 c. mashed bananas
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 3/4 c. quick cooking oatmeal
1/2 c. chopped walnuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 F.
Combine sugar, margarine, and egg; blend well. Stir in mashed bananas. Sift dry ingredients together and gradually add to wet ingredients, stirring well after each addition. Add oatmeat and nuts last. Drop by heaping teaspoons fulls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10-15 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove to cooling rack and store in a covered container.

These cookies can be frosted using chocolate frosting. Frost the flat bottom of the cookie which is easier to spread with frosting.
