2 c. dates
1 c. boiling water (add 2/3 c. more water if using dried date crystals)
1 c. sugar
1 egg beaten
1Tbsp. melted butter
2 c. flour
2 tsp. soda
tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Pour boiling water over dates and let stand for 20 minutes.
Add all other ingredients and beat well. Pour into greased loaf pan and bake at 350 F for 1 hour.
