5 large ripe bananas
4 eggs, well beaten
1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped walnuts
**4 tsp. baking powder

Directions:
Directions:
Beat bananas until liquid; combine with eggs and set aside. Cream together shortening and sugar until fluffy. Add banana mixture and blend. Add sifted dry ingredients and stir until smooth. Fold in nuts. Pour into two well greased loaf pans. Bake at 350 F for 45-50 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean in middle.

**Aunt Lorea Hall had this recipe and it had baking powder. Jessie doesn't use the baking powder but it does help the loaf to rise in the oven.
