"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy, and to make plans."--Ernest Hemingway
This recipe for Cheddar Cheese Sauce - Paula's (microwave), by Trish Rees, is from The Pace Family Cookbook ,
one of the cookbooks created at FamilyCookbookProject.com. We help
families or individuals create heirloom cookbook treasures.
1 c. milk 2 Tbsp. butter 2 Tbsp. flour 1 c. gated cheddar cheese
Heat milk for 2 minutes on high and set aside. In a seperate container melt butter for 1 minute on high. Stir in flour then heat for 1 minute on high. Briskly stir in milk and mix well. Cook on high for 2 1/2 minutes or until boiling. Stir in cheddar cheese.
I use frozen broccoli & cauliflower and this goes great over either.
