8 cups oil for frying
2 (8oz) pkgs cream cheese, softened **
4 (6oz) cans crabmeat drained & flaked **
1tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp paprika
1/4 cups water chestnuts drained & chopped
2 (14oz) pkgs of wonton wrappers
1 green onion finely chopped

** you can substitute bacon and use herbed cream cheese instead of the reg cream cheese for those who don't like seafood or possibly are allergic.

1. in large heavy sauce pan heat oil to 375*

2. in medium bowl, mix cream cheese,crabmeat ( or substitute)garlic powder, paprika and water chestnuts

3. place approximately 1tsp of cream cheese mixture in the center of wonton wrappers. moisten wrapper edges with a little bit of water,fold over the mixture and pinch to seal tightly.

4. In small batches, fry the wontons 3-5 mins or until golden brown

watch your oil so it doesn't burn!
