1 1/3 c flour
1 tbsp Hershey baking cocoa
1/2 tsp salt
2 eggs
1/2 c butter
1/2 c shortening
1 c sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 c chopped dates
1 tsp baking soda
1 c chopped nuts
12 oz chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Add dates and baking soda to 1 cup boiling water and set aside. Mix rest of ingredients, except for nuts and chips. After well mixed, add the date mixture you had set aside. Pour in 13 x 9 greased pan. Sprinkle nuts and chips over top of the batter in the pan. Bake 350 for 45 minutes. Does not need icing and is rich and delicious
