Apple Cake Recipe

1 cup sugar,
1/4 cup butter,
1 egg,
3 medium apples grated,
1 t soda,
1/4 t salt,
1 cup flour,
1/2 t cinnamon,
1/4 cup nuts.
1/2 cup butter,
1 cup sugar,
1/2 cup cream,
1 1/2 t vanilla.

Cream sugar and butter. Add egg and beat. Add apples. Mix soda, salt, flour, cinnamon, and then add to sugar, butter, egg, and apples. Add nuts.
Bake for 35 - 45 minutes at 350F in a 8x8 pan.
Cook sauce until thick in double boiler. Then pour over cake.
