In a square type cake pan, lay unwrapped ice cream sandwiches on the bottom. Spread Cool Whip on top, along with crushed nuts. Add another layer of ice cream sandwiches. Cover with Cool Whip and crushed nuts. Freeze well. Cut and serve.
