1c.chocolate chips
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
tsp. salt
c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 T. milk
c. coconut
c. toasted slivered almonds

Preheat oven to 350. Melt c. of chocolate chips and cool slightly. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside. Cream shortening; gradually add sugar. Add melted chocolate, egg and vanilla. Add milk, mixing well. Add dry ingredients, and mix well. Stir in remaining chocolate chips, coconut, and almonds. Place a ball of dough, about 1" in diameter on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes.
