6 T. butter
3/4 c. light brown or combination of light and dark brown sugar
6 T. milk
2 c. powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter, add brown sugar, blend, add milk, boil hard exactly one minute. Remove from heat, gradually add powdered sugar, beat until mixture loses it's gloss.

When we would visit my grandmother, Sophie Evenson Eikland, she would many times have just made a white cake frosted with this frosting. It was my favorite. It reminds me of being there and drinking the well water out of the white enameled dipper from the water pail in the pantry (we were supposed to use a glass) and trekking to the outhouse on an early foggy Wisconsin morning.
