"As viscous as motor oil swirled in a swamp, redolent of burnt bell peppers nested in by incontinent mice and a finish reminiscent of the dregs of a stale can of Coca-Cola that someone has been using as an ashtray. Not a bad drink, though."--Excerpt from "The Moose Turd Wine Tasting" by T. A. Nonymous
This recipe for Meatloaf, by Brenda Wagner, is from Wasserstrom Associates ,
one of the cookbooks created at FamilyCookbookProject.com. We help
families or individuals create heirloom cookbook treasures.
2 lbs. ground chuck ½ - ¾ c. barbeque sauce ½ c. ketchup 1 envelope onion soup mix ½ - ¾ c. milk ½ c. green pepper, chopped 2 c. corn flakes, finely chopped or bread crumbs 2 eggs
Mix all together. Add extra barbeque sauce on top. Bake ½ hour with foil lid plus 1 hour without lid at 350º. Sometimes I bake in a bread loaf pan separately and other times I throw in a terra cotta baking dish and add carrots and potatoes with meatloaf for a one dish meal.
